Sales Tax Exemption

If you're purchasing products for use in certain states, you may be exempt from paying sales tax.

We can flag your Good Start Packaging account so that you won't be charged at checkout.

Simply attach your resale certificate using the form shown. Once received, we will adjust your account and confirm via email within one business day. Please wait for confirmation BEFORE placing your order. We are unable to apply your resale certificate retroactively to previous purchases.

Below are examples of the documents we need to be completed by state. If your state is not listed, we will not collect sales tax at checkout. Required forms for non-profits may vary. Please do not send your business license, sales tax permit, W2, or W9.

Freight Forwarders

If you are shipping internationally using a freight forwarder located in Florida or California or you are shipping to Alaska using a freight forwarder in Washington, you will not have to pay sales tax.

  1. Fill out the form shown, selecting "Freight Forwarder" from the Reseller State selection list. In the Comments section, please specify that you'll be using a Freight Forwarder and let us know what state they're based in and what country the products are being shipped to. Skip the "Upload your Form" field and select "Submit".
  2. For each order you place, you will need to provide a Shippers Export Declaration from your freight forwarder. Please email the completed form to clientservices@goodstartpackaging and reference your order number.
